Hamid El Kanbouhi (Larache, 1976) was de eerste stadstekenaar van Amsterdam in 2014. Zijn verblijf als gastkunstenaar bij Bureau Postjesweg in Amsterdam Nieuw-West sluit hij af met een installatie van tekeningen, als onderdeel van zijn serie ‘Evrouwcipatie’. Na deze korte residency zal hij als kunstenaar een periode voor rust en reflectie inlassen, dus mis het niet!
Tot maart 2022 is Hamids werk ook te zien in de series kunstdoeken bij GGD testpaviljoen Sloterdijk, met 15 tekeningen: ‘Van Amsterdam naar Dakhla, een wandeling in mijn hoofd’.

Gesprek tussen Hamid El Kanbouhi (de eerste stadstekenaar in 2014) en Richard Kofi, dit jaar stadstekenaar van Amsterdam. Kofi focust met zijn tekeningen - gepubliceerd in het Parool en vanaf eind 2021 op straat en bij het Stadsarchief te zien - op Amsterdam buiten de Ring: Nieuw-West, Zuidoost en Noord. Hij laat zich inspireren door bijzondere ontmoetingen tussen verschillende groepen mensen.
De twee kunstenaars bewonderen elkaars werk. We spraken (o.l.v. Richard Kofi en Iris Dik) over hun werk, over ruimte voor makers in de periferie van steden en over Nieuw-West en Zuidoost in diaspora ondersteund door muziek van hun keuze. Zie de foto’s op onze FB pagina.

Hamid El Kanbouhi (Larache, 1976) was the first ‘city-artist’ of Amsterdam in 2014. He concludes his stay as artist-in-residence at Bureau Postjesweg in Amsterdam Nieuw-West with an installation of drawings. They are part of his ongoing series ‘Ewomancipation’. After this short residency he will take a break for rest and reflection as an artist, so don’t miss it!
Until March 2022 Hamid is also participating in the presentation of a series of art canvases at the GGD testpavilion Sloterdijk with 15 drawings: ‘From Amsterdam to Dakhla, a walk in my head’.

Conversation between Hamid El Kanbouhi (the first Amsterdam city artist in 2014) and Richard Kofi, this years city artist. With his drawings - published in the Parool and on display on the streets and at Stadsarchief from the end 2021 - Kofi focuses on Amsterdam outside the Ring: Nieuw-West, Zuidoost and Noord. He is inspired by special encounters between different groups of people.
The two artists admire each other’s work. We discussed (hosted by Richard Kofi and Iris Dik) their work, space for makers in the periphery of cities and about Nieuw-West and Zuidoost in diaspora accompanied by music of their choice. You find the pictures on our FB page.
